World Bank financing helps to support Senegal in the fight against COVID-19

Senegal was the second country in Sub-Saharan Africa to register its first case of COVID-19. With the World Bank Groupâs support, the Government was able to strengthen its disease surveillance systems and capacity to rapidly detect and respond to COVID-19 by procuring diagnostic supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other essential equipment for laboratories and health facilities.
